State Board of Pharmacy to Votes to Protect Vaccine Access Across PA
September 03, 2025
Harrisburg, PA – Board voted to protect COVID vaccine access for those most in need and delivered clarity for Pennsylvanians.
Today’s vote allows PA pharmacists to follow the vaccine recommendations of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
Following today’s regulatory action by the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy, pharmacies will ensure COVID-19 vaccinations are available as soon as possible at locations throughout Pennsylvania.
All four of these organizations have endorsed wider availability of COVID shots, particularly for people who meet the newly restricted guidelines issued by the FDA. Today’s vote not only brings Pennsylvania in alignment with our neighboring states, it also brings clarity to people across the Commonwealth.
